- ½ cup baking soda
- ¼ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide
- ½ cup of Epsom salt
- 4 cups hot water
- ¼ cup white vinegar
Combine all ingredients, adding the vinegar last. Soak the affected toenails in the mixture for about 10 minutes. After soaking, rinse your foot with clean water and dry. Do the treatment twice per day for about two weeks.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is strongly aromatic and used for all sorts of skin conditions. To use it for toenail fungus, mix a few drops of the stuff (it’s powerful) with a teaspoon of olive or coconut oil. Use a cotton ball or cotton swab to paint the mixture over the affected area.
Leave it there for approximately 10 minutes before using a clean toothbrush to lightly scrub the toenail. Don’t rub too hard or you’ll cause scratches that fungus can hide in. Rinse and dry to complete the treatment. Follow this protocol up to 3x daily until the nail is fully healed.
Oil of Oregano
Oregano has been used in folk medicine for hundreds of years. It is able to kill germs, bacteria, viruses, and parasites as well as fungi. It can also lessen the pain from these types of ailments. To use oregano to treat toenail fungus, add two drops of concentrated oil to one teaspoon of olive oil. Spread the combined oil on your affected toe(s) and leave it on for about half an hour.
When you’re done, wipe off the mixture. It takes about 3 weeks of twice daily application for this treatment to be effective.
